Warner Bros. is creating 6 million DC comics trading cards with redeemable NFTs

Warner Bros. is making more than 6 million DC Comics-inspired physical trading cards that can be packaged with NFTs that are redeemable. They will be accessible later in the month.

Card and board game company Catamundi will be assigned with designing the cards and will have a roster of over 55 superheroes. The NFT is minted on the Ethereum sidechain named Immutable X.

The WB also plans to release some cards that are limited edition in nature, which will obtain imagery and characters from Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”, which stars Robert Pattinson.

Pam Lifford, president of global brands and experiences of Warner Bros, states that “Trading cards have been a fan favorite for decades. It’s just wonderful to add to that excitement for collecting with custom NFTs.”

In addition, “hybrid” card packs will range in price from $5 to $120. Buyers will be tasked with downloading a mobile app called Hro to redeem the NFT components of their physical card, as well as for other NFT trades (buy, sell, exchange) from the collection.

The news comes right after Warner Music Group announced its partnership with a play-to-earn game called Splinterlands to give music artists greater access to the NFT marketplace.

This is my way of doing that.
